Adding pictures to items

KevinHall's picture

I was trying to create my first Algebra question.  I'd like to add a picture file (JPEG) to the question.  When I try to add the picture, it asks me for the URL location of the picture, but the picture is on my hard drive.  Is there a way to upload the picture into the item directly from my hard drive?  Thanks.

Attaching files to questions

It's not as easy as it could be, but it is possible. At the bottom of the question editor, there should be a File Attachments tab in the list, under Revision Information. Click to Choose File and then click Attach. Your file will transfer and show up in a list. You can give it a description, which can help if there is more than one attachment.
Beneath the description is a URL to access the file. Copy it without the starting "http://qcommons.org" part (keeping the slash character that follows) and use that as the path to your image in the WYSIWYG editor above.
I have plans to improve this but for now at least it works.
